School Psychology Awareness Week

November 14-18, 2011

Dear Colleagues,

This year's theme, "Every link matters. Make a connection." helps our students and schools focus on creating positive connections within the school community, their academics, and their lives. The NASP website provides a program involving a series of resources and activities that school psychologists can use to reach out to school staff, students, and parents to help them feel connected, supported, and ready to achieve their individual goals. Please take a moment to review these resources to see what you can use in your schools to help promote those positive connections.

In celebration and appreciation of all that YOU do...

  • A detailed display board about School Psychology and what YOU do will be on exhibit for all to see at KC Wright.
  • The School Board of Broward County, FL has approved Resolution No. 12-31 in Support of School Psychology Appreciation Week.  (See attached.)
  • A raffle for all BASP members will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011.  One lucky BASP member from each area will win a gift basket that includes gift cards for Barnes & Nobles, coupons for a variety of local places, NASP poster, door hangers, and more.
  • All school psychologists will find a sweet treat, gifts, and a special message in your area mailbox.  Enjoy!

  • Click here to read a letter that you are encouraged to share with the principals at the schools you serve, informing them that November 14th to November 18th is School Psychology Awareness Week.  You may also want to forward the School Board of Broward County, FL Resolution No. 12-31 to your principal, support staff, and teachers.
